Thanks, it will be even more awesome when we actually start working on it. Got some parts sitting here now (pieces to eliminate the AC/heater box without losing the cowl, a new master cylinder to eliminate the power brakes, and a few other things). We are going to eliminate the AC/heater box on this car to save weight and make for a cleaner engine compartment. On G-bodies the AC/heater box actually builds the firewall/cowl area on the passenger side. The parts we got will cleanly eliminate the heater box, and yet retain the top part of the cowl where it seals to the hood. www.gbodyparts.com/product_info.php?products_id=673&osCsid=61ff1f2da43b92ce158ad0a2b7deecdbHopefully the build will start on this car come summertime!

Let's bring this thread back to life. I have purchased the car and am in the process of fast tracking it into life. Huge parts order placed yesterday, and I am hoping to have the combo up and running by late March. Being i'm going Carb'd, I do not anticipate much to get it running time wise, however I have to undercoat the car, assemble the heater/firewall box/cowl and a few other things that will impact my time frame, but i'm still optimistic.
Plans as of now are H/C on the Q9, 200 Wet kit, 3400 stall, TH400.
Pics and more info as I get a free moment.

Have you decided on what heads and cam you're gonna go with?

As of this moment, I seem fairly confident in the PRC 2.5's, and on the cam I haven't even started thinking yet.
The car will be done in 3 stages in order to stay on line with my budget constraints.
First - GEN III Transplant/reassemble what's torn apart on the body/underhood/heater case.
Second - Heads/Cam Package
Third - Nitrous Installation
So, the car is actually going to be run down the 1320 in all stock LQ9 form at first. This way I can get some time to get the car out and running and if I hit any big snags, should be able to take care of them on the spot.

Finally got a work day in on the car. Got the Frame coated in POR 15, as well as the engine bay all detailed out/painted and inner fenders instaled. Test fitted the heaters as well. 1 7/8" Mid-Length/coated: Still waiting on the Heater case from Gbodyparts.com to show up, once that's installed I can seat the powertrain, and get the TH400 torn down and upgrades performed. I'm really liking the simplicity of the carb setup at this point. With this older vehicle, there just isn't much to install really to get it running....like 3 wires and some plumbing at best...haha. More to come as the pace picks up in the coming weeks.
