'97 Crown Victoria LX, Power everything, Loaded!
The car was originally purchased to be a daily driver while I was in the process of getting the pickup's turbo installed and up and running. However.....Jared had a GREAT idea. Why not just do this instead?
It's a PERFECT vehicle for the 6.0/76MM!
It came into the dealership this week with a broken coolant crossover on the intake manifold, however the little old lady that was driving it just kept on going, till it cooked itself literally to death. It cranks like there are no heads on it, absolutely no compression on any cylinders to speak of.
The cost to replace the motor with labor exceeds the resale of the car, so it's effectively totaled out. It's a sad deal because she has taken absolute care of the car, it's literally PERFECT. Interior is immaculate, body is straight, and it's low mileage at 79K.
I picked it up for $900 cash.
Weight from what I could find from online references sits at around 3600lbs. The car comes equipped with an 8.8" rear axle factory, with disc brakes, and the fuel tank is vertically mounted factory as well with a tray style pickup system, so I don't see any problems with fuel delivery. The engine bay is cavernous to say the least, and it looks as if I can get PLENTY of room for an huge intercooler up front, along with keeping the A/C operational.
Got an 80E that I had build up for the pickup to install as well.
Also, these cars have a full frame, so no subframes!
I think this is a Win-Win no doudt. It will be within 400lbs of the Mustang, and will have about 200 more RWHP at any given boost level. I can't wait to see the looks on people's faces when this boat takes off!
I'm currently helping Jay on his pickup, so i'm anticipating getting started in about 2 months give or take. Might try and get the motor out this weekend so I can see what I got to work with on the swap.
