2 days of work and got quite a ways! I spent a lot of time carefully taking the car apart, and making sure I could go back together with the 4.6L just in case something came up with the new powertrain install that would make it a deal breaker: Within 1/2 degree of level with the car frame: Stupid easy to mount up an LS to a 4.6L K: Need to get the block/heads cleaned up, but for fab purposes there is no point: Intercooler should be no issue, over 4" of dead open space between front clip and the A/C core: Got the fire jacket and Helmet in the back seat: And, free parking at the church: So that's it for a few weeks, i'm on to J's pickup for the time being. Meanwhile, i'm going to start gathering my next bulk parts purchase which should include the Turbo and piping, and get the trans installed and mount fabricated. This is SO much easier just having to do the motor swap and turbo kit, i'm glad the car is already done on this one. I did enjoy the experience of doing an entire build on the Mustang, but adds SOOOO much work into an already time consuming process.

Idk just yet John, but i'm really trying to hug some known good builds on the setup, it's worked very well in the past for me. I can pickup a 76MM On3Performance one for pennies. I've also thought about calling Rob @ Modular Turbo as well since he quoted me a steal on a 76MM a while back as a returning customer.
I just can't see spending that much money for a turbo, when guys are getting 700+ RWHP on cheap or chinese turbo's for that matter. Sure, there are other factors such as longevity and such, but it seems as if I could find equally as bad horror stories about Turbonetics being defective right out of the box as well.
I think i'm going to give On3 a try for the Bingo cruiser on this one, since Master Power isn't an option.
Thanks for the links and suggestions tho, never hurts to see what all's out there!

Ya know, your probably right, I prob should have just bought me the On3 journal bearing 76mm for dirt cheap... Like just over $300?? I guess I'll just see how this one goes, hopfully I wont have any problems with it.

I doudt you will, Turbonetics is a very well respected brand, and a lot of guys have great success with them. I know the ball bearing guys say the spool time is so much better, but after I changed the stall out in the Mustang, my old Journal bearing MP unit was pretty much instant boost, very little delay at all. I think a lot of the ball bearing/journal stuff has a lot to do with how well the turbo is sized to the engine combo, which also effects how it spins up and such.
My biggest thing is I don't want to experiment, I want proven dyno numbers, which will equate to proven E/T's and MPH at the strip, that's all.

Well.....idk which is more creepy. ALL of the STOCK PICKUP accessories clearing the hoodline: The Transmission fitting in an UNALTERED tunnel: (yes there is plenty of room for those cooler lines!) The STOCK pickup pan fitting the K, with minimal hang-down: The cavern that's left for the turbo/downpipe/log mani: And.... This baby will have A/C no issue! Aside from some fitting conversions, it will be rocking a stock A/C pump and factory 134a system: Driveshaft length is going to be VERY close to unchanged, MAYBE 1/2" cut down max: (the writing on the body is from me marking the stock trans/ujoint location) Also will have power steering! If you notice, the pulley is removed from the pump. This is because I didn't think it would clear properly. It looks as if it will, but it's going to be VERY close to the belt. Jared had found that there is a stock pulley that fits the pump from another GM vehicle, that is 1" smaller. I plan on using that if the stocker doesn't work once I press it back on. I'm also going to run the Fbody intake, and the Dirty Dingo alt bracket simply becuase the car intake looks cleaner, and the alt, although it would probably work, is just too close with the hood latched: The trans crossmember also has to be moved back about 3 inches or so. But, the car has a full straight tube steel frame, so it's simply a matter of getting some plate steel and fabbing up an "L" bracket and welding it to the frame. Which I like as the swap will still be fully reversible as the stock crossmember mount will still be in place. So far, it's like this car was meant for this motor. I'm pretty darn happy with the ease of it so far. I was studying the IC layout and turbo placement, and it looks as if the Turbo kit will layout just like the KB racing turbo kit does. Moving right along!

So whats the plan for hot pipes/turbo placement? As of right now it looks like the turbo will be placed near identical to the KB Racing kit like on the pickups, with a log on the RH side, and an Fbody manifold on the LH side with a crossover underneath. the DP should fit between the log and the A/C box and exit behind the K on the passenger side. I'm actually looking at just the KB racing log right now, if the measurements pan out, I think i'm going to buy just it and make my fabbing a lot easier.

Well it looks like we're going to have a small wait on J's converter for his 4L80 from Yank, so this weekend I get some Vic time!
I ordered a set of motor mount adapters from Dirty Dingo Motorsports, I like how their design is better, so we'll see how they fit. I have the motor mounted currently, but have a lot of room to work with so I figured a little more set back on the motor would be more ideal, and would prossibly prevent me from having to modify the driveshaft length.
